I've been reading a lot of books lately. When I was studying I had to take more than a month to finish one book. So it feels great to finally have time to do some proper reading.

The first book I managed to finish last year (between working on my final year project and research project) is Room written by Emma Donoghue.

This book is so captivating because it is written in the point of view of a little 5-year-old boy who has never been out of a room where he and his mother is held captive by a man. It is funny, charming and exciting. To be honest, I bought this book at the airport because the cover looks really nice. I'm glad the story is even better. Felt like I hit the jackpot or something.

Another book I managed to find and read last year is The Bell Jar. I've read so many reviews on Sylvia Plath's work and went hunting for The Bell Jar. It was a tough hunt but I found the book.

This book is sort of a semi-autobiography that Sylvia wrote as it revolves around depression a lot. She committed suicide shortly after this book was published in 1963. Her description of her emotions and states of depression is so vivid, it's almost like you're reading a diary of a suicidal person. After reading the book, I wondered if they were planning to make a movie out of it and sure enough they were. Julia Stiles will be playing the main character; Esther Greenwood. A must watch.

Okay, moving on to Augusten Burroughs. If you love drama and comedy, Augusten Burroughs is your guy. This book is really entertaining. It is about a gay television product promoter who accidentally flashed his ding dong on live camera on one of his shows and how he handled the whirlwind that came after that incident. An awesome read.

And last but not freaking least. The Hunger Games trilogy. Suzanne Collins, I love you.
These books are just phenomenal, stunning and so well-plotted. I've cried, laughed, and cussed at the pages. I will say no more because I want you to read them for yourself. Cannot wait for the movies. I'd be buzzing for hours before going to the cinema.

It's 2012. The last few days of 2011 was pretty amazing for me. Glad to have my wonderful family and Gengkaras in my life. I've never had a birthday surprise party before and my family did one the day before my birthday, they just popped out of nowhere while I was doing my usual past-time activity/ watching a depressing movie on my laptop.

They sang the birthday song at the front door with the candlelit chocolate cake and I didn't really know how to react (and it wasn't twelve o'clock yet). I just stood there and said "Whaaaat?" and laughed and thanked them. I think it wasn't showing on my face, but I was really touched and extremely happy that they did that. They were disappointed that I didn't cry haha. Nevermind.

They brought 2 bottles of Vodka and tried to make me drunk.

I was so shaky and couldn't even take a proper photo of the cake.

On my birthday, we had dinner at Little Italy. Unfortunately, all the photos are not with me. Nothing much, just delicious food, extremely delicious chocolate cheese cake and me looking very nervous as the entire restaurant sings the birthday song. It was fun! yumm.

The day after my birthday, the Gengkaras planned a karaoke session at KKBox. I love that place because they have nice song selections haha. I didn't know it was for my birthday until I was in the karaoke room. So it was a little bit of a surprise too. Thank you again guys! you have no idea how much I appreciate that :) and thank you for the pull-up bar that I have yet to put on my door frame! haha. I will once I get the drill/ screwdriving machine. Can't wait to do some pull ups.

2011 wasn't that bad. I got my degree and ended it on a very good note.

Two days ago I stayed up for an "internet party" with thousands of people online lol. First up was the Casey Anthony sentencing live stream which in my opinion was f**ked up, then I went on to the Harry Potter Premiere live stream on youtube; it was so sad to watch knowing it's the last installment for the franchise and then I had to wait for what about 2.5 hours for Adele's iTunes festival livestream! dammit she was great. Even though the show started at 4.30am, I was wide awake when she started singing. The funny part was when she started singing my favorite song "One and Only", my maid who woke up at 5am switched off the wifi! and I was like holy sh-- what the-- lol. Then I turned it back on and I missed the entire song -_- haha. But it was a great show and if you missed out on it, the videos are all up on youtube :) which I re-watched like a maniac.
She just recovered from laryngitis, I think she did an amazing job.

Hello everyone,
I'm starting to run again. Haven't been doing it properly and consistently for the past few months. I might be joining the 7k run this month on the 16th. Filled the participant form! This will be my first marathon and hopefully many more to come (if I like it).
I think this is the best time to spend time on what I like to do, after spending four not-so-happy years in university. I'm finally done with it and will soon open a new mysteriously daunting chapter. But right now I'm allowing myself to linger and figure things out. Let's just hope I don't linger for too long and start to hover to nowhere.

Alright back to the main reason I'm here, I'm still listening to Adele's 21 faithfully like I'm listening to it for the first time everyday. But I've also been listening to a whole lot of Sam Cooke. His voice is like no other. His songs are as soulful as soul can be. I'd recommend everyone to get the Greatest Hits record to get a taste of his works throughout his wonderful career.

Bring it on home to me is the first Sam Cooke song I heard and it remains my favorite of all his songs.

I've seen almost every video of Adele that exists on the internet due to my apparent disorder of being overly obsessive with certain singers lol. Since it is now late at night, it is the perfect time to watch some lovely videos. I have shortlisted 8 of my favorite videos of her amazing performances. This is not an easy task, but I managed to come up with this list.

It's worth the time watching these. Oh trust me.

I will graduate this year!! So happy to have passed every paper I took!! Have to start mapping my future soon, to make sure I start at a good place and continue the journey then on.

Been spending time reading, playing my ukulele, playing guitar and trying to make another cover.
Time well spent? yes.

I will be leaving for Taiwan later this week with my mum and sister. Don't know what to expect from this trip, but I hope it'll be fun and surprising.

The semester has ended and now all I have to do is anxiously wait for the results. After the final paper, I've been busy making up for lost time.

Went to Singapore to catch Sara Bareilles, went to Penang with the girls, listened to music all day, watched movies that have been on my computer for ages and basically lazed around. I have to remind myself to pack before my mum calls to check.

Bon Iver will be releasing a new record in June! it's leaked though, so you could go check it out already. I LOVE IT! so much different than For Emma, Forever Ago but in a really good way.

As promised! My cover project! the first song will be posted now lol. I did this in about 15 minutes while waiting for my ride, a few days before the final paper.

Today I started my finals. Can't help but count the days till this is all over and start a new phase of my life. I feel mentally unprepared for the future, like I'm still a kid in the head. I have some serious growing up to do.

Next Monday I will take the last paper of this semester and anything I do after Monday will be crazy, all over the place and not a single care will be given~!

I started a little cover project that I've been thinking of doing for so long but never got the time to begin. So I figured I should use this blog to share and track my progress. It'll be fun! In fact, I've done one song. I do hope someone would check them out haha. I'll be doing this while looking for a job in the next few months, just to feel productive.

For now, I should go take a nap and study for the remaining papers.

Running the final mile

I really suck at updating this blog . haha. been pretty busy lately with my design and research project as well as the other subjects of my final semester. Design project is a pain in the ass. I wish I had the brains to do it all on my own and build a freaking reactor with my smartness. I just hope that I could finish it flawlessly by the end of next month. I shall finish this final mile up this steep hill!

If you know me, you must've noticed my constant mentioning of Adele. I'm completely in love with her. Her voice....there is no word for it. I hope she'll be singing for as long as she can breathe. She's going to have a permanent mark on my love list, next to Tegan and Sara. I must see her before I die. *important life mission*

So what's new...I bought an ukulele! haha I'm going to play it like hell when this semester is over and I'm going to do covers with it. omg. It's easy to carry and I'm so happy that my guitar has a little brother now. His name is Ohana haha. Thanks to Jojo for bringing me to the shop on a fine Sunday :)

I'm also going to see Sara Bareilles on 11th May! Flying to Singapore the day after my final paper. It is going to be one of the best days of my life! I'm sure I'd cry at the sound of her voice :')

5 years ago I never would've thought that I could go to all the shows I've been to. I'm so grateful that I get the chance to do all this and I won't be stopping anytime soon!

Super chinese month

Hey yooo,
Hope someone actually checked out Frightened rabbit from the last post. I'm planning to get a hard copy of the record when I get some money to spend! But before that I have to get myself something to wear on CNY which is only a week away. This is when the chinese in me rise up and celebrate with my tiny-eyed relatives and friends. If I have to pick the happiest time of the year, it would be this month. Nothing is better than being with family members, eating good (really good) food, playing cards and just laugh all day&night.
I still get excited whenever I hear the lion dance troupe that goes from house to house . I'll be one of the kids smiling and staring at the dancing lion.

I'm also hoping Old Tactics will get some action this year. It's been a while since we did anything and I'm hoping to get everyone together and play an acoustic session at one of the awesome cafes here. We have to write some original materials to present too. I can't wait :)

Last Monday I went to a bar & lounge called Artista and on mondays they have Indie night where all sorts of indie-influenced bands would perform but for some reason there was a terrifying heavy metal band (vibe killer but they were good). I met the guy who organized the event and he told me to add him on facebook if I am ever interested in performing in the future. So I did that and found his youtube account. That dude can sing and play the guitar so well *stalker-mode*. lol but seriously he's good and he's local and this is very rare. Especially his rendition of Jeff Buckley's Lover you should've come over and Jimi Hendrix's Voodoo Child.

Okay, let's start with some music.
In the past months I've been posting Biffy clyro stuff and now let's meet one of their fellow countrymen band of a different genre, Frightened Rabbit.

I recommend getting their recent record The Winter of Mixed Drinks. (and after that all the other records)
Beautiful and instrumentally rich. I can't say enough to compliment the record. And that Scottish accent. mmm.

Also I recently turned 22, an age I thought should be a line where I turn into a mature young woman. I am so far from that, god help me. I can't even dress like a proper girl LOL.
I wanna thank Ojoy and Lena for being there on my b'day haha. I had a great time even though it was a simple party with two slices of delicious cakes!. How I wish we all live close to each other, so we could be crazy more often.

now I'm gonna practice the ukulele weeee haha byee. ps: I'm gonna buy one! too cute.

that was a dream come true show.
when the drapes fell and Hayley started jumping, head-banging and spat in the air, I had this insane I'm-in-heaven feeling in my heart. I am still digesting and trying so hard to recall that night, it felt so fast and so dream-like. It's going to take a while to sink in. I miss them terribly. the best show of my life. I'm surprised that I didn't cry when I saw all five of them on stage. I was so overwhelmed that I automatically engaged myself to the songs and set myself on auto-headbang mode.

I tried to take nice photos half the time, but Hayley was like a wild red-headed omnivorous beast that bolt from one end to another, I couldn't even focus on her for two seconds. So on certain songs I just turned off my camera and enjoyed the freaking show. Almost for the whole show, I had to re-assure myself that I was really at the show and Josh & Zac just waved at me and Hayley heard me screaming "I love you Hayley!" and Jeremy was slapping that damn bass just a few feet away from me and Taylor was at the far right end.

I was ecstatic, in pain, tired and a little annoyed cause a lot of people fainted on my side and the guards had to pull them out of the crowd. But the hell with it, I was in a Paramore show!

I loved how the Farro brothers always give eye contact. and I had countless eye-contact with Josh before finally waving at him and screamed "Hi Josh!" , when he waved back with a smile, I just felt like I've accomplish something crucial in my life.lol. Then I tried it with Zac in between the songs and he too waved back :).

And near the end of the show, Hayley decided to torture me with the possibility of being on stage with her. THEN she chose the dude next to me. Y u Crush crush crush my heart. lol it's ok I will try harder next time.

At the end of the show, I was drenched in warm gig-sweat with a happy heart and a guitar pick richer (after begging the guard and threatening his dear life). har har. I also have bruises on my knees from the pressure of the crowd pinning me to the barricade, so proud of them. My Paramore show bruises.

OK now I have to go do something useful like lying down and breathing.

PS: Hayley said we're sucked into the family and it is for life :) My wife is awesome.

Kaleidoscope Heart and Performance and Looking like a girl once a year

Hiiii I need to sweep the floors of my blog, getting pretty dusty in here.
I'm here to relax my mind as I have a performance tonight. The last department night I will attend and perform in. Initially I wanted to perform with Old Tactics but they didn't have enough budget to allow that to happen. So I'll be performing with my good friend/ coursemate.
We'll be playing hey soul sister, Bad romance, and oh! darling by the Beatles (the song I will probably cover with Ojoy in the future he he he )
I'm gonna wear something feminine (kinda). Doesn't happen often, so this is gonna be awkward and I'll feel like a cow.

Anyways, the main reason I am here is to pour my love for Kaleidoscope Heart, Sara Bareilles' new album/masterpiece/freakin amazing work/album of the year.
I cannot tell you how incredibly happy I am to know that she exists lol. I loved her last record Little Voice but this record...I am married to this record.
The lyrics, the melody, the voice, the everything are just mindblowing. After playing the whole record when I first got it, I never stopped playing until today. I listen to it before I go to sleep, when I do my work, when I walk to class, when I'm bored, when I jog, when I'm stressed out and etc.

I could just listen to her all day. seriously.

I'm updating my playlist/ sleeping pills. I'm not sure if this is a disorder but I need to listen to stuff to go to sleep. Sometimes when the music stops I wake up. 0_o

I haven't mentioned anything about Bon Iver. OH HOW DID THAT HAPPEN. Bon Iver is fronted by a guy called Justin Vernon/ GENIUS. Their songs could be heard occasionally on Grey's anatomy (Btw, I finished season 5 recently, I've never cried so much watching a tv series..omg)

Anyways, Bon Iver is something different. Don't leave this world without listening to them.

Lavigne's Grip

Hi,
I spent the weekend with my aunt and she can shop like she has no depleting energy level. I feel like a weak cow after 10 hours of walking with her.
came back to her apartment, slept for an hour and woke up ate a corn and right now I'm listening to Avril Lavigne's second album Under My Skin.
I could never let her go D; ..although her last (3rd record) was a little confusing and upsetting, I just can't forget how much I used to love her and listen to her religiously when I was in high school and how I started to pick up my guitar because of her. I even got a skateboard but that was a failed attempt lol (I sucked).
I remember being able to play one song in full for the first time and it was Avril's song Things I'll Never Say. I still love that song till today. And when her second album came out, I started to learn to play songs by ear. Her songs are simple and fun to learn. I graduated to different levels of guitar playing while learning from her songs. So that said, I'm still a fan. Eventhough, Av is not like the way she was, I think I'll always remember her the way I first knew her.
And her concert in 2008 is still one of my favorite, oh that night..lol...I was full-on Avril fan mode -_-' .

She sounds amazing live.

I'm back in uni and it's Friday night and I'm alone in my room. I have a new room mate, she's alright but a few years younger than I am. So we don't have much to talk about except the usual hellos and goodbyes.

The first week had been pretty challenging and I have been awoken from my long 6 months break. The professor gave us the title to our Design Project and Research Project. We have to design a coal-fueled power plant. homaigad. I'm not sure if I'm even capable of doing it but I'm ready to learn in the midst of my fear of failing. I don't wanna screw anything up in this final year, cause I want to get all this over and done with!

I'm currently listening to Kina Grannis, if you're my friend on FB, you'll see me posting a lot of her cover videos because I'm just in love with her and her wonderful talent. Her latest video is a cover of Pretend by LIGHTS.

I can't even begin to explain how much I love this cover. JUST AMAZING. no offense to LIGHTS lovers but I think she sang it WAY better. She covered a lot of songs and they're all amazing. Besides that, she has her own record released earlier this year called Stairwells and I highly recommend it.

I want to fucking cry.
Here's how I would summarize my uni life:
Miserable, sad, lonely, painful, stressful, sad, lonely, horrible, cry, dead, awake, numb, stress.

The main reason is cause I'm living in a room alone. I eat alone sometimes. I don't really have anyone to talk to. I use weekends to try to catch up on my studies because I am slow. I cry at least once or twice after exams/ tests. I sometimes go out alone lol. no make that most of the time. I feel inefficient and inadequate all the time. I can't start an assignment without consulting anyone and help doesn't come straight away when you need it. I can't go to bed with a relaxed mind.
I try to take it easy though, this is also why I always talk about songs and music because these things take all those negative feelings away from me. Even if it is for a short period of time.
Also now, I could remind myself "One more year, one more year".
That said, I will try to make things brighter when I get back.

The only time I remember being close to happy or cheerful is when I meet the Geng Karas or any one of them. They are my family away from my family and I love them, they are the cheese to my macaroni.haha.

It's 12.10am and I'm chillin in my room listening to Steel Train. They've been touring with Tegan and Sara and I tried checking them out today. They were surprisingly awesome. I'm not just saying it cause they toured with T&S, they are REALLY good. D;

Go check out their latest self-titled record Steel Train. I'm pretty sure their discography is available on torrent. You won't regret it, I promise.

I'll be going back to uni in less than 3 weeks. So I'm gonna soak up as much fun as I could before that happens. So unmotivated. blurgh.

I might end up deleting this blog for my lack of updates and my lack of discipline with the playlist posts.
I just got back from a long trip (10 days) with my mum and sisters from kk to kl to Langkawi and to Penang. In kl I shopped like I've never shopped before and bought tons of new shirts, enough to keep me looking good up till christmas lol. and in Langkawi I got into my blue polka dots- never- to- be- seen- by-people- except- my-family-members swimsuit and bathe in the highest part of the waterfall, it's called the Seven wells. And then I got to ride the cable car which was freakishly high and I got into a weird conversation with a woman.

then in Penang we ate like hell cause Penang IS a food haven and there was a lovely Uncle Gan who drove us around and fed us well. too well.

Oh I didn't post my playlists for the past two weeks, mainly because I don't feel like it. I'll make one for tomorrow, how's a soundtrack playlist sounds? good? okay.
I've been trying to find something to do to kill time and kill it with proper mental developing activities, so I don't end up being a potato after these few months and go back to uni feeling like poop.
So I have been playing music and drawing a little haha. I really wanna expand my knowledge in drawing cause I love it and I'm not good at it at all. I wanna learn to draw people's faces without making it look like a 3 year old's work............... I am just bored.

In fact, I think after I graduate I want to look for a place to learn Jeet Kune Do which is founded by Bruce. But I'll definitely have a hard time finding a good teacher around here haha. Maybe I should just finish with my Karate first, I'm on Brown-black now, just one more step to black. Sooooo I hope I'll have time to do all this. I downloaded the book Bruce worked on with his wife, so many interesting things to learn! It's in english but some of it are written in chinese! I can't read chinese! shiet!

So I made a deal with my boss that I'll go to work everyday but I get half the day off to do research back home or at the library. and He said "OKAY" ohmygawd (and now people I work with with should never find out about this blog LOL) but I get to do it only 3 times per week. That's good enough for me! I don't have to sit in for 9 hours watching sitcoms half the time anymore! YEaaaa...

Today I did this aerobic/martial art workout with my sister. It's called Taebo and we played the DVD in our living room and did the 45 mins exercise in the space available. It was fun and tiring but good! Definitely something I recommend to add to your daily exercise routine. lol.
I've been hiking a lot too. I really enjoy the feeling of reaching the top. kinda like the HAaAAARRR I MADE IT feeling. I dragged my mum along and she doesn't wanna go for another hike with me anymore. haha. I don't mind, as long as I have my playlist playing and a good pair of shoes, I am good to go. (Speaking of playlist, I will share it on my next post!)

My aunt got me a nice black hoodie last week cause I got a weird headache that comes and goes and they blamed the air-cond at my office. So she got me a jacket with a hood to protect my oh so sensitive head. I love my aunt XD

Tomorrow hopefully I'll get to go to the cinema to watch Brothers a new movie with Natalie Portman, Jake Gylenhaal and Tobey Macguire. Excited!

So next week is the week Paramore will be performing in Singapore. I'm happy that they're coming somewhere near and hopefully Hayley will tell Tegan and Sara how awesome Asians are and make them come too. hahaha.... yeaa. me and my wild dreams.

Because last week I heard from a bunch of Asian T&S fans that "The Con" was played on FLY.fm which is a Malaysian radio station. omg. It's definitely the first of hopefully many plays. I would have severely fan-girled all over the radio if I'd caught the song playing.

As you all know, I'm currently doing my internship in a cement factory. I actually enjoy working because I get to mix with different types of people. Some are even mentally unstable but harmless. I also get to learn a bunch of stuff about cement and machines. Totally masculine stuff. lol. In between those so to speak "busy period", I educated myself with movies and sitcoms. haha. I know this sounds ridiculous but one could learn a lot of things from watching movies.
Lars and the Real Girl is one of them. I love this movie so much. One because Ryan Gosling is in it and two because the story is just unique. It's loneliness, love and comedy all mixed together.

Okay, I'm watching Oprah now. About some serial killer who killed 8 women. interesting.

Another long weekend and Biffy drugs

I'm so glad to get half the day off today. It helps to be friends with senior workers at the factory.
And this Friday will be another public holiday which I am looking forward to. very very much.

In my last post, I mentioned about Biffy Clyro and I mean it when I say they're good.
Obliviously I fell in love and listened to them almost everyday.

Haha.
And last week I went to beach alone for the first time. It would probably be fun if there's someone there with me but it's okay to be alone sometimes. I went after work and it was around 5.30pm? I think. and the sunset was beautiful.

My mp4/ sometimes the source of my sanity is broken after 4 years of faithful service and I loved it dearly but since all good things end eventually, I have to bury it under the pile of crap in my living room rubbish bin. So now I'm hunting for a replacement and I'm considering getting an Ipod Touch. It is so tempting!. I'll put more thoughts into this though. No rush.
It's getting late and I have to be up early again tmrw.

Hello again.
I should be sleeping now, but I need to update a little.
Firstly, I am not going to Paramore's first Singapore headline concert. and I've literally had a few (bad) dreams about it lol. and in each of em, I am always in front of the stage waiting for them to come out. and they never came out! I probably won't be listening to the radio next month, when they start to give free tickets away and start playing Paramore's songs like tomorrow never comes.

and to add to the anxiety, I have Bruxism. It's the grinding of teeth when one is sleeping and I'm totally unaware of it. I woke my sister up a few times due to the loud grinding sounds lol. From my research, one could actually clench one's teeth at really high-pressure when one is asleep. Try grinding your teeth REALLY hard now...imagine grinding harder than that in your sleep lol. I need to get a mouth guard for this.

On the totally different but bright side, I am a Glee addict. lol. and I don't think I want to be healed.The cast members are GREAT. Lea Michele is wow .I've always loved show choir :D but never had a chance to be a part of one lol. that's okay. This show is just awesome. I've never seen a show that gives me goosebumps on almost every episode. except that episode on Acafellas XD not a huge Mr. Schuester fan. So glad they won Golden Globes and SAG haha.

Yes I haven't been updating since last year har har. mainly cause I have another blog going but I'll keep this updated for now.
So how is the new year treating everybody?! I had a pretty different New Year's eve and day. Had a great time with a quarter of the gengkaras and jamming with ojoy. And I found out Calrsberg Gold is a better beer ^_^ .
Today it's 2nd of January and during breakfast earlier today I accidentally ate a dead fly covered with soy sauce. Oh god I felt so disgusted. What does it taste like? it tastes like a fly who drank too much soy sauce and died from it. I got "eat a dead fly" ticked out of the "things I should do before I die" list now.

Today is officially the last day of this semester, next week is the study week. I'll be preparing for exam again. fuh. what a tiring week this is, so glad that it's coming to an end. At least I could take some time to caress my guitar tonight lol.

and hey! good news, I got a place for training this December. I'll be reporting for duty on the 1st of December at Cement Industries (sabah) hell yeahh home! I'll be home on the 18th of November, my dad's bday :D and get 2 weeks rest before training. Excited and a little worried about the tasks I have to carry out. But we'll see how it goes as I enter pre-adulthood. hah.

And what do you knw, Beyonce's concert is canceled (I dont think it's postponed), I think Beyonce is just tired of the stupid rules here. Too stupid to even digest them into a sane mind. So good for her, but a huge bummer for us lol. I was getting into the all-the-single-ladies mood already. oh well. now I have to refund the freakin ticket.

Phew it's been a few weeks. I had the most crazy day today.
Woke up early around 9am and sat in front of my laptop to write a report till 3pm. Oh god. My brain was either weird or odd or slightly insane after that. So worn out. and then I had to take the cab and rushed to the uni to pass it up lol. and then I kept forgetting things and ran up and down up and down up and down. Official Popo for today.

So it's october, some people are gonna head to the octoberfest which unfortunately doesn't exists here lol. But I'm making my own Octoberfest haha. Beyonce is coming next week and AAR (All american rejects) are coming the week after and the week after that is my exam. And I'm still going to both shows lol.

A good buddy got me the Beyonce ticket with 10% off the original cost. So it's kinda worth it and I got the free-seating/ cheapest ticket. That means me and my bunch of friends have to go there early to attend the seat-grabbing war hah. Her set list is pretty impressive, 36 songs in one night! and she'll sing Angel by Sarah Mclachlan & You oughta know by Alanis Morrisette Cool eh? AAR's ticket is free, so it's even more worth it hahah.

Earlier today I wanted to change my Supernatural DVD because I couldn't play itttt. and they don't have any left in stock. wtf? So I had to get another movie -_- . I got I love you, Beth Cooper (cause I like Hayden lol) and I'm gonna watch it now. May it be good.

I have to be up really early tmrw morning for this compulsory talk. huhhhhh. so freaking annoying.
and in a way it is good cause I don't have to join the cleaning activity they're having here in my residential hall. thank goodness. If I were not goin to the talk, I bet I wouldn't join either. Who the hell wakes up at 7am to clean?? dumbastic.

I've been Paramorizing people and I have to say, it has been very successful lol. I did that back in the All We Know is Falling and RIOT! phases and haha it worked.

Hello, its Friday.

Last night I received an email from Us Magazine saying Avril and Deryck are splitting up. I usually don't buy into gossip news but Us magazine is pretty reliable. I was still pretty hesitant to believe it at first but then it was on MTV and ET canada and etc. So it's true, they're splitting up.
Sources say Avril is leaving Deryck and he was "crushed" by her decision. It's funny cause rumors have been around for the past one year then bam! its happening. Fans are goin crazy. lol. It's sad and I hope the best for both of them.

Avril's official statement:
Deryck and I have been together for 6 and a half years. We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. Hello, I'm not depressed anymore yey :D everything's done. I met up with my English lecturer and asked her what I did to disappoint her and she told me that she must have set the bar a little too high for me. And told me that she could tell that I'm a reader :o (I don't read THAT much to be identified as a reader by sight lol) and she told me that I've done good and blah blah. So, just to make the story shorter. I'm just glad that I've talked to her.

So, today I did the public speaking on abortion. I was a complete nervous wreck. I have no idea why and I hate that. When an audience member nodded and smiled in agreement to my statement, I started to get all nervous and forgot my lines. I guess I was just scared that the smile would disappear, and thankfully it didn't.... cause I looked like comic character, fumbling around with the papers in my hands.
I'm just glad that it's over, but I wish I could have done better. Oh wells.

So back to the hateful title of this post. Yes. I've always hated Kanye West and I thought I could at least like him a little bit for that good intro of Beyonce's Ego. But hell no. VMA was broadcast live this morning [No astro here, so youtube is the only source for me :( ]. And maybe some of you have heard of that shit Kanye pulled when Taylor Swift received her award for Best Female Video Award. Gosh He's an ass.

Hello.
I am depressed. Two companies replied with a no-no for my industrial training application.I have less than two months left to look for a placement. I am depressed. My English lecturer said I disappointed her. I am depressed. I wrote my report in present tense when it is supposed to be in past tense. I am depressed. I have a public speaking next week which I am not really prepared for and I dread the thought of disappointing my lecturer again. I am depressed. I have a presentation tomorrow and I could only talk for 10 minutes. almost 30 slides in 10 mins, sick.
This is exactly when my urge to do bad things really haunts me. like drinking or going to the pharmacy to purchase some anti-depressant drugs. lol. (no I wouldn't do the latter but I have thought of it *shifty eyes*)
I just think I need some help. no kidding. sometimes I think this is not healthy for me. And I could think of so much that my head hurts at the end of the day. literally.

Okay let the dark side stay in the dark side and step into the bright side.

Its been a while since I've updated. Last week was crazy for me and my crazy friends hah. I was worn out until Wednesday lol. and on Thursday I met up with Ojoy and watched The Orphan. It's a good movie. Go see it :p Isabelle Furhman can really act.

I jst got back from uni, after spending the WHOLE day on an experiment. freakin time-wasting experiment! and annoying and urghhhhh. The thing that ticks me the most is that we had to do this for 4 days. and not everyone will be doin this particular experiment and my partner and I just happened to be soo damn lucky and got it. and now I jst feel like passing-out. but I still have some energy to come online haha cause today is the day Paramore is releasing their latest video~ Ignorance!

Hello,
It's 4.15am~ I just took a shower and wanted to write this out before I go to bed.
The performance was disappointing, not because we did bad (well there was some technical problems) but the crowd/ audience was ......... I don't even have the right word to express my "heartiest" anger ~
Not only did most of them ignored our performance, they really acted as though we weren't even on stage lol. Only a hand-full were really giving us their attention and I/ we seriously appreciate their attention and support. It was so disappointing that I didn't even care when I hit the wrong chords.
Having been taking my course for a few years now, I know how most of my course mates/seniors are; not really into english music or music/ art-related stuff. But a 3-song set? just 3 freakin songs! show some freakin respect! HUHHHHHRGHH
They were just the WRONG first crowd to play to. Some videos were recorded but they're not really good in quality. I don't think I would upload them cause I don't wanna have anything that could assist me in recalling the night. ~seriously upsetting.
I wouldn't be this upset if we haven't been preparing for weeks. Having Jojo and Awang drive up and down to pick up Me and Ojoy, spent those nights practising....we enjoyed it of course. But this is just disappointing.
Anyways, on the bright side, we went for a Durian buffet after the stupid dinner haha.
And now I am still full..wooohooo.
Again I really wanna thank my lecturers who really listened in lol, and my wonderful friends who sang along.love them <3 and Thanks to Ned and Chris dong for showing some love ! haha.
No worries, our next performance would be recorded and we'll have music lovers in the crowd (not soon though).haha. But we will =)

It's Thurday, I have no class today woohoo~
Tmrw night will be the first time OldTactics will perform live in front of a real crowd (kind of) haha. We've been preparing for weeks and finally the day has arrived (well a few more hours still lol).
Hopefully I can get someone to record the performance for us and I'll post them up on youtube =).
We will play 3 or 5 songs depending on the situation of the night and the time given/allowed. But the 3 main songs are Man in the mirror, Build me up buttercup and call it off (the other version).
We've finally polished our version of Man in the mirror haha. Hopefully, it'll sound good tmrw night.

Oh and it is actually a performance requested by my department for the CEDAN (chemical engineering department and alumni night) . phew~ So we'll be performing in front of students and engineers and doctors LOL.

As we all know our beloved Michael Jackson has passed away last week and it is a major lost for everyone who'd ever been touched by his timeless music.

So what was you MJ moment?

If I were to describe my childhood or my life in general, it wouldn't be complete without mentioning Michael Jackson. I remember when I was barely 5 around 1992, Michael was doing his Dangerous tour and one of the show was broadcast live on TV. My sister and I got an empty cassette tape and we recorded the complete show. My whole family sat in the living room and we all watched the show. I don't know about everyone else, but I was awe-struck by his moonwalk and that gravity-defying stand he did in the middle of Smooth Criminal.
And after that night, my sister and I would keep replaying the same tape over and over again since we have no other visual entertainment because at that time Astro was not available yet.
We became instant fans.

In 1997, Michael made a movie called 'Ghost' and I remember forcing my mum to get me the cassette tape of the movie. It became another addition to my entertainment list, next to Bambi and Beauty and The beast. I loved it.

Screw the allegations, the accuser and his family are nothing but ruthless gold diggers/ extortionists.

In short, I'd just like to say a huge thank you to Michael for his showmanship and wonderful music. His death is a devastating news as the world lose one of the best entertainer/performer/dancer/singer/humanitarian ever. May he rest in peace.

I haven't been updating for a while, so lets see what I got.

Spinnerette's album was released a few weeks ago. It is good but not as good as any of The Distillers' albums. My favorite track is Driving song. The bass is just so yummy and so loud and so urghhhhh I love it. haha. and Brody's voice is pure sexayy lol.

I went to kundasang and went to the waterfall for the first time lol. Its soooo nice and freezing cold.

Haihh so small. I'm too sleepy to adjust the size haha.

I woke up at 9am today, that's a record lol. No, of course I didn't naturally wake up, I was awakened by a loud "YOU WANNA FOLLOW OR NOT!!?".. omg save me. really I didn't want to.

By follow, my sis meant to follow her to One Borneo. She was the make-up artist for the "Hong Kong Superstars" (as they called them). And I was obviously not so thrilled cause I'm not so fond of the Hong Kong entertainment scene xD. But it was cool to be able to see them from a measurable distance than on tv. haha.

So I spent 3 hours wandering in the mall with mum before dad picked her up. and then I decided to watch Drag me to hell. I was excited cause I was craving for some horrific movie to wake my senses.
To my surprise, I laughed so much in the movie and that the only thing that jolted me a few times were the sudden loud sounds. I've read reviews of it being really terrifying xD but noo trust me its not hahahaha. It was so funny lol. The old lady is superb.

and then it was already 4 something when I got out of the cinema, so I called my sis and met up with her somewhere. And then I just joined them for the "HK superstars" private function at the One B ballroom. And how I wish they were Tegan and Sara or Paramore or even Avril Lavigne lol. Cause people who attended the function had to pay for the tickets and they had to be picked ( as in luckily drawed). And I just got in by pretending to be the "make up artist's fake-bag-carrying assistant" lol.
And we were given a table right away, and free seats for the show haha.
I was standing just.. maybe one feet away from one of them lol. I didnt get to take pictures though. I don't even remember their names now haha.

But the fans were thrilled and happy :p and I guess I was happy to be part of it. kind of.

How are you? Well I am tanned! like I'm wearing an invisible Tshirt and shorts XD ngiahaha
and my throat is so dry even after I drank tons of water.

Owh I didn't even explain the tan haha. Me and mah buddies went on an island trip and we did all the snorkeling and eating and banana boating. This would probably be my last time playing that banana boat. It hurts and makes me dizzy :o it was fun of course, only before you crash into the water.
I drank a fair amount of sea water too. Maybe that's what's causing the dry throat I'm having now. and don't forget the unprotected eyes :o I was screaming with my eyes closed and the opened-mouth is a good entrance for the sea water too. eek.

And we were island hopping (haha I was just remembering when I was younger I used to read island as "is" and "land" XD and I had a fight with my sister over that) from Pulau Mamutik to Pulau Manukan. and we snorkeled (<--is that correct?) in both island and we got bitten by evil black fishes in Manukan haha. They kinda look like that^^ but with a white dot on top.

We also had a small sand castle building contest lol.

I finished 2 seasons in one sitting lol.

Exactly one month of break left.hmm. My results came out yesterday, devastating. lol. I refuse to think of it for the next few weeks and just start fresh again next freakin semester. Been wasting so much time watching televiiision and surfing the net haha. but I doooooon't feel bad cause I know I won't be able to do this for the next few months. Might as well just enjoy being a couch potato once in a while.
I slept at 4am last nite and woke up at 8.30am this morning, oh such a lack of sleep. So what am I doin? I'm now listening to Radiohead and trying to get some inspriration to write a song haha. But nothing is coming ...yet. I need new guitar progression hoho.
This week I've been listening to Bif Naked a lot. She's an american artist born in India. So she's Indian American? I dunno haha. but her music is so energetic and expressive. I love it.

I'm relaxing at home with my Grandma, she just asked me what year it is, so I said "2009". She nodded then said, "Oh, so you'll graduate in 2002?" xD
Exam results should be out early next month, which I am totally not looking forward to. I hate that 'omg result is coming out soon' feeling sooo much. It's mainly because I know I didn't do very well haihh.
I've been really catching up on movies I've missed and been watching a lot of movies. But one of the movies that stood out was "Running with Scissors". I forgot what made me decide to get this movie but it is sooo good. So good that I watched it twice in a week. And what amazes me most is that it's a true story. And I know how most true stories are always pretty mundane and biographical blah blah. But this is just really out of that category lol. You won't believe that these kind of people actually exists haha.

Here's a little synopsis...owhhh before that haha I remember why I got this movie. Cause Evan Rachel Wood is it in lol.
So the story is based on Augusten Burroughs' personal memoir which he wrote based on his life. He was a very bright little boy who never really wanted to go to school and his mother helped him on several occasions to stay out of school. With very unacceptable reasons like "he has to help me prepare for a party" lol. So when his parent's marriage was on the rocks, his mother met a shrink to help cope with things. And this shrink is just the weirdest shrink in the world if you ask me. haha. So maybe you should get the movie and I shouldn't spoil it for you. xD
Btw, Augusten Burroughs is also gay. Ohh another reason I got this movie, he's a friend of Tegan's and Tegan wrote a song for his latest book too.

Caramel- It's in the international film section. watch it! I love these international films slash movies featured in film festivals. They just don't get enough recognition here. Reading subtitles is not THAT hard. The cinema has less than 10 people when I was watching it! lol.

Hello hello. busy week for everybody huh? The next 3 weeks will be very very scary and I might get a series of panic attacks. Exam is SO near, as in 2 days left haahaa. I'm so scared that I'd panic and just forget everything that I've been stuffing into my brain for the past few days.
I met my dad this evening and had dinner with him at Kenny Roger's in Petaling Street. Woo lama sudah tidak makan sedap2. haha. And then he kept telling me not to save money on food, "Just eat whatever you want and don't save money on food no matter how expensive it is". Okay Papa. I don't always crave for expensive food, so that's okay xD.

Oooh I'm listening to Letters to Cleo. Remember them?? 10 things I hate about you soundtrack? . LOVE them. and I LOVE the movie. I can watch it again and again.

I went to mass today and the priest gave a very interesting sermon. He talked about how people nowadays are so cynical and judgmental. And then he went on to giving an example, (I actually read about it on the paper before goin to church lol.) it was about Susan Boyle. If you haven't heard of her, she was one of the contestants on Britain's got talent show. You could just see how the audience were judging her by her appearence from their facial expressions. Until she began singing. I had goosebumps watching this video.haha.

I woke up from a light nap with a throbbing headache. But here's something I'd like to share, if you're bored and have nothing better to do and have some money to spend, get Yeah Yeah Yeahs new album It's Blitz!
It's totally different from the other YYY's records, this is by far my favorite from them.

And another record worth getting is Gavin Degraw's Free. So good. He's like the male version of Rachael Yamagata in this record lol. Love love it.

Hello again!
I'm still alive, and still stuck with assignments and my final exam is in 2 weeks *faints*.
Last Saturday we recorded 4 songs again. However youtube is not being really nice to me lately and Joyce's had to upload the videos. So far, we've only uploaded 2 videos which are:

Help. I mean Heeeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllppppppppppppppppp. lol. I'm drowning in a pool of assignments and if my stress level were to be compared to my breathing level in this pool, it'll be like having the tip of my nose on the surface,no air air. haha.
Seriously, I don't mean to complain but ohh myyy gaaaaa. I hope it'll end by the end of next week so I could at least have some time to free my mind before preparing for the final exam which is next month *faints*.
I'm currently writing another report on another project assignment which I'm supposed to work on with my group members. So far only one really really helpful friend is helping =), the rest are just sleeping-partners. I'm someone who hates to deal with those people and I'd rather not work with them than having to pester or push them to do things that they're supposed to do. I, myself am not a perfect student, I have my own flaws and shortcomings which I really have to correct before its too late lol. So I'll just try to finish what I have to do and go on the next assignment (o m g).
Mid semester exam was a total nightmare for me. Just horrible. lol

Moving on, I realized a few of my older posts were deleted without my consent xD. Its because I've been posting those links haha. Apparently, it's against some kinda blogger's rule. So I won't be sharing any links for the time being. But I just have so much music to share and I'll continue to do that with youtube. woots!

I've finally completed my The Strokes collection. YES. I've been listening to them since I first heard Last Nite in highschool. Never stopped loving that number. Julian Casablancas is hot. haha.

I'm announcing the formation of a brand new band consisting of Joyce, Jojo, Awang and me (drummer? gimme a call lol). We've been deciding on the name of the band and we've came up with a few suggestions.
Before that, we were jamming last night and recorded a NUMBER of videos lol. Which I will put up on youtube soon under a new account dedicated especially for our band.
They were making fun of my dodol obsession last night (we bought dodol and ate it after jamming. Very delicious) haha. So I came up with the following :

March is not a fun month.All the datelines for assignments is in this month and time is definitely running so out. Plus, my brain is deteriorating slowly as the work piles on. This is the most stressful semester so far. Assignments are given for every subject and I couldn't even recall all of them properly.
One minute you're doing this assignment and then your friends would remind you of that other assignment that will be due in one week and you'll be like "Oh! that one!" and then you walk into the next class the lecturer goes "Okay, I have an assignment for you and the due date is *insert date a week after today*" and then you'll start to count and try to map out your strategy to do everything and make it seem possible to finish everything in time and still be able to be human after that.

Maybe, I'll share one interesting assignment/individual project that we were asked to do. So we have to design an experiment on anything that's related to Heat transfer. I decided to not spend so much money on whatever is it I have to do and try to find something that I can do with what I already have at home. So I chose to study the cooling rate of a cup of coffee;One with milk mixed in it and one without milk. It might sound easy but it sure is not lol. I'll definitely share the results haha. Just in general, not like I'll post the graphs or anything.

Another long weekend is coming..*SIGH* I really hate spending weekend here. No one to spend time with/ talk to!. I could go crazy just sitting in my room and study.Basically, I feel lonely most of the time here. I should probably get use to that, cause I have a few more years to go XD.
Okay, happy things please. I created a last.fm account last year but never really used it lol. So after being persuaded by some of my friends and out of my own curiosity, I decided to be active.
It's a great place for music lovers. You could discover awesome musicians/bands you've never heard of before. Kinda like myspace but this is like music Heaven.

What's my new obsession?
Well, recently a good friend called Awang LOL, introduced a band called Mates of State to me. Been listening to them ever since. SO GOOD!

Friday again, time to unwind, time to get some sleep, time to get some City and Colour. City and Colour is a side project of Dallas Green's. He's the guitarist and vocalist in Alexisonfire. Did that ring any bell? lol. I found out about him a few months ago because he was touring with Tegan and Sara. So I thought, if Tegan and Sara are awesome and they think City and Colour is awesome then I should give him a shot XD. So I downloaded Dallas' album and kept it for a month lol. This is cause I download a bunch of stuff all together and explore them slowly haha.So after exploring the other albums, I've finally reached City and Colour. I'm now in love with Dallas :p. His voice *faints*, his lyrics *oh*, his simple guitar playing *genius*, his harmonica playing skills,his tattoos (NICE) .

I don't know about you guys but that's kinda my definition of a perfect man.muahahaha.

What happened to my recent posts??? *pengsan*
This is the second time it happened.
frustrating. It was a nice post and I don't even remember what I've said lol.
I remember Rachael Yamagata, Paramore and Tegan and Sara.
I've tried to retrieve it but I can't seem to find a way to do so.
So I'll just let it go for now. *sigh*

Let me see if I can recall everything I've said lol.

So what's up in the music world:
1) It's not official yet but Paramore might be releasing a new album this July! Wooohooo!!
And Josh and Zac (guitarist and drummer and both brothers) recently visited an orphanage home in China. Musicians with a heart.Me love. lol.You can check out the story about the trip here (I'm doing good).

Another reason why I love Paramore is because they always stay in touch with the fans through Livejournal.

2) Tegan and Sara are recording!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!! Album will be out around October or November.

They've written 40 songs and are now in the pre-production stage =D. I can't wait!!!

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine. We were appreciating the art of pizza. Talking like two doped young adults while impatiently waiting in line to get ourselves some popcorn and drinks before immersing ourselves in the sea of laughter when Bride wars started to play in the cold theater. So, we were talking about how amazing pizza is. It's like the milky way. The dough underneath is to be the galaxy and the delicious toppings are the amazing combination of all the planets; Mars, Pluto, Venus, etc. all orbiting peacefully on that mouth-watering pizza. lol. yeah I actually thought we were secretly being drugged. But nah, we were just letting our imagination take control of our minds.
That's exactly what happened to me this afternoon while I was listening to an amazing song lol. The song is about love and I have a habit of picturing words before I say it ( yes I do this on a daily basis, you just don't notice it lol). So I was picturing the word love and how it could be represented by other symbols.One symbol that came to my mind was <3, mathematically it means less than three. And that is true lol. It takes 2 to fall in love, it's not love when it involves more than 2, as in 3. get it??
LOL. genius?! haha. I'm just crazy and stressed and don't have anything better to do.
Btw, Bride wars was really good in my opinion =D got me laughing so hard in most parts. Kate Hudson + Anne Hathaway = Woohoo!.
And now I have to get back to my assignments and try to finish at least one tonight. I never get things done on time anymore *faints*. I'll try to change that -__-. Maybe it would help if the homeworks don't come in such huge numbers all at once, punching me in the face!. Sometimes I feel really depressed and that's when I don't get things done xD.
So to avoid that I'm goin off now hoho.

Food-wise, I am happy to say that I am well-fed and still fighting hard to keep my new year's resolution lol.
Gambling-wise, *cough* card-playing-wise, average lol. No win, No lose. haha
Emotion-wise, Happy and cheerful and hyper most of the time. XD
Academic-wise, oh boy*faints*. I brought my books back for revision cause we were given a LOT of notes to read in this SHORT holiday. I haven't touched any of them. -__-
Entertainment-wise, I just watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

NICE. It's a very creative and smart movie. Mostly narrated by the voice of Brad Pitt. I love the storyline :)
And I've been listening to a lot of Rachael Yamagata lately. She is just wow.

2 more days and I'll be home for the CNY.
I woke up this morning and read the newspaper. A news highlight was printed on the side of the front page saying PAS is trying to ban Rihanna's Concert. So as usual I expected some idiotic reasons to ban the show.
First off, I'm not a fan of Rihanna. But I still want her show to go on. It's a freaking music concert, what harm can it cause? It's not like Rihanna would pull out a gun and starts to shoot the audience while dancing with her dancers to Umbrealla and drop bombs in the chorus .
Ok, so the reason they wanted to ban the show is because they've made an assumption that the money that one spends on Rihanna's show would go straight to the ongoing war in Gaza. Like you would be sponsoring the war, you know?
Supporting Rihanna would be supporting America (financially) in the war? LOL.
That could be a theme for saturday night live comedy.
And of course the usual, sexy and revealing clothing that they seem to loath so much. I bet they've seen worse in the confines of their private computer room. Hypocrites.
They've already successfully stopped Beyonce from coming. She's one of the best singers alive and for her to decide to come to this country to perform is such a great honor. But sadly, rules are made to annoy human beings who actually have brains.
And one more thing, if boycotting American products could stop a war, then the world should have began to boycott since Hitler was born or before the Japanese learned how to ride a bicycle. dumbass.
Their perseverence to do things in their absurd way is just far-out embarrasing.
My veins could explode just talking about them. I just wanna shove them in a box and seal them tight, so that they never see the light of day agn. lol.

On the bright side, Obama's inauguration was yesterday. Yeay! :D The concert must've been great. Unfortunately, there was no live broadcast on the local TV. So I just watched some highlights on youtube. You should check out the performances before HBO remove the videos.They are great. Go Obama!

Hello again. I'm back at uni, starting a new semester. Been here for a week and homework are already pouring in madly.
So I got a visual antidote today, my friends and I watched Australia. The movie starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. It was Great. It was a a bit long but it was damn good.Hands down, Baz Luhrmann will always be one of my favorite directors. And the kid who played Nullah known as Brandon Walters, he is amazing and funny.
My favorite line from him is "Last big fat bloody cheeky bull!" lol.
The movie is a mixture of comedy, romance, suspense, action, and nature. All in 3 hours. I would have enjoyed the movie better if I weren't freezing in the over-conditioned cinema.
So my advice, go watch Australia and bring a sweater.

That's not the end of my Aussie post.
Tegan and Sara are currently doing their Australia Tour for The Con. They're doing extremely great! Today they're doing a show in Melbourne. I think they're performing right this second in Palace Theatre, Melbourne, Victoria. Lucky Australians! :(
Next show is in Adelaide, South Aust. All shows SOLD OUT. weeehoo! way to go girls!
